EU nations recognize Guaidó as Venezuela’s president

France, Germany, Spain, the U.K. and different European nations have officially recognized Juan Guaidó as intervening time president of Venezuela.

The coordinated pass comes after President Nicolás Maduro rejected the EU's Sunday cut-off date to call a snap election.

Jeremy Hunt, the British foreign secretary, said: “The humans of Venezuela have suffered enough. It is time for a new start, with free and fair elections in accordance with global democratic standards," the Guardian reported.

“The oppression of the illegitimate, kleptocratic Maduro regime should end. Those who continue to violate the human rights of regular Venezuelans below an illegitimate regime will be referred to as to account. The Venezuelan human beings deserve a better future.”

According to the BBC, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez instructed reporters: “Given that we’ve received to these days and Maduro’s regime hasn’t taken any steps by any means toward [calling elections], the authorities of Spain proclaims that it officially acknowledges Mr. Guaidó, the president of the Venezuelan assembly, as Venezuela’s caretaker president.”

French President Emmanuel Macron said Venezuelans had the right to "express themselves freely and democratically."

Chancellor Angela Merkel stated in Tokyo early Monday that her authorities would understand Guaidó, with the foreign workplace later committing to deploying modest alleviation funding.

“We remain involved about the people in Venezuela who are suffering as a end result of extreme shortages,” said Germany’s Foreign Minister Heiko Maas. “Germany will provide funding of €5 million for humanitarian help in Venezuela as quickly as the political conditions in the united states
